3RD NOA 2024 CREATION CALL

From June 10 to July 8, 2024, NOA resident artists may submit their applications. The residency is oriented to individual projects of creation of original works with projection in the living arts; carried out by women, lesbians, transvestites, trans, non-binary and other dissident identities.

The residency is aimed at women artists, lesbians, transvestites, trans, non-binary and other dissident identities, from the NOA region (Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Catamarca, La Rioja). The projects will be evaluated by a panel of jurors, the selected artists will be three, and will be informed via email in the last week of July.

The residency proposes to creatively converge in the same time and space women and dissident identities of the region, with the inhabitants of the territory of Tilcara and to accompany personal projects of scenic creation in this context. The artistic projects to be promoted will be interdisciplinary cross-disciplinary, performance, site specific, intervention in the landscape and/or public space, community-based, participatory, as long as they respond to the concept of living arts, i.e., the intervention of a significant body in an exhibition context.

The residency seeks to continue strengthening the social and artistic fabric of the region, promoting a situated point of view that links art with the territory in which it is developed. It is an opportunity for artists to relate their creations to the real, natural and constructed spaces, the original identity and cosmogony and the current life of the people, the history of successive colonizations and massacres, and the current socio-cultural context. Such positioning promotes critical thinking on these issues, nurturing the artists' imaginary and giving rise to a deep encounter in close connection with their territory.

In this edition the format will be virtual-face-to-face through a system of tutorials, coordinated by Paula Baró, Tiziano Cruz. The selected artists will have virtual meetings with the tutors during the month of August and will then carry out the face-to-face stage of the residency, living together for 10 days during the second half of September at the Centro Universitario Tilcara. On the last day of the residency there will be a free exhibition open to the public at the “Dr Eduardo Casanova” Archaeological and Anthropological Museum. All the activities carried out in Jujuy will be recorded in a short documentary, which will be later exhibited at the Centro Cultural Paco Urondo.
